The Best Indiana Riding Roads for Fall
It is time for Fall, which means the options for motorcycle roads with beautiful scenery are endless! Indiana provides great variation in routes, having options with straightforward and serene drives, as well as undulating picturesque options. No matter which route you choose you are sure to view stunning scenery, experience great hospitality as you stop along the way, and create life-long memories.
US HWY 12 through the Indiana Dunes National Park in northern Indiana is perfect for new riders. The two-way highway presents riders with a scenic yet straightforward ride between Michigan City and the Indiana Dunes. Throughout the 36 mile trek, riders will view a variety of local plants as they evolve with the changing season. If the weather permits, we suggest that you make a pitstop to climb the dunes during your trip! Southern Indiana offers a variety of routes as well, including the popular Morgan-Monroe Loop. The route begins in Morgan County, leading riders south to Monroe County just north of Bloomington, then looping north through Needmore, and Morgantown coming to a close in Morgan County. Through the heavily wooded Morgan-Monroe forest roads, riders can experience a more remote and peaceful ride. Stop along your journey for a picnic or hike in the undulating forest while the season is in full swing to view the stunning sights of Fall in southern Indiana. It’s a sight you won’t want to miss! Looking for a longer ride? Consider exploring Big Lick Ride. The 165 mile route begins in Madison, IN and travels along the Ohio River towards Cincinnati before looping back around to lead riders back to Madison. Along the journey riders will have the opportunity to visit Big Oaks National Wildlife Reserve, and the countless quaint shops where riders can purchase a gift to remember their journey. A wonderful aspect of Indiana’s riding routes is that there is something for everyone.
